Woke up early morning at 3.50am to catch the champions league round 16 game; Manchester United vs Lille.
I was quite anxious bout the game and thought Manchester United would defeat Lille easily. But then i was wrong though. Lille work their socks off and tried to frustrate Man U and they did. Man U did pretty well and could managed to create chances except the didn't convert them to goal. Grrr....!!!
Then at the last 10 min of 2nd half, controversy sparks. Man U won a free kick bout 29 yards from goal. Giggsy(Ryan giggs) was the freekick-taker. During that time giggs was seen having a conversation with the referree whether he can take a quick free kick. Then in a flash the ball was behind the net and 1-0 to Man U. =]
Man U fans were ignited but not Lille fans. They were absolutely furious with the perceived injustice given by the referree to allow the goal as Lille players weren't ready yet when the freekick was taken .
Then things start to heat up, missiles were thrown from stands Lille players even protest by leaving the pitch similar to the asean cup final singapore vs thailand.
Although the game started to heat up coming to an end but the refferee did handle it well and the game ended 1-0 to Man U.
